Real tours of the observatory for the 2009 summer season have
not yet been finalized. Once the new telescope is in place
tour scheduling decisions will be made. At this time no
tours are scheduled.
The main dome of Big Bear Solar Observatory was originally
built in 1968/1969. The dome itself was a steel 30-foot
diameter hemisphere. In 2005 the old dome was replaced
with a 34-foot 5/8-sphere fiberglass dome to accomodate
the NST.
