| BBSO Cloudcam |
This camera is mounted alongside our H-alpha full-disk solar telescope. It shows the region of the sky near the Sun. The dark square in the center of the image is a filter blocking the Sun to protect the camera. Our observers use this image to check for clouds near the Sun which would interfere with observations. If the dome is closed, you will see the inside of the dome (unless it's night, in which case you'll see nothing, or perhaps the last image recorded that day). There is a new image once a minute from 8 AM to 6 PM on weekdays. Observing hours are limited at present because of NST construction.
